So far arrival in Hong Kong has been smooth sailing. With the exception of breakfast on the plane being served a little too early for my liking. We were about half way into our plane ride and I was about to hit my stride into a deep sleep when all the lights turned on and the stewardess started pushing the carts. Although this was a minor setback I got a good six to seven hours of sleep. Upon arrival I decided to watch Anthony Bourdain’s show, The Layover on Hong Kong. Not only did I learn about Kins Kitchen in Causeway Bay (not too far from where I am staying) or Hui Lau Shan in Tsim Sha Tsui for places to eat. But I’ve come to realize that I don’t know Hong Kong as well as I thought I did even after being here two previous times. I am not only excited to play tennis abroad once again, but excited to immerse myself into the Hong Kong I haven’t seen and experienced. It’s also exciting to have my Southern California buddies, Daniel Nguyen, Ryan Thacher, and Chris Ho on this trip with me.
Forecast calls for rain the next few days which will be a drag. But hopefully things will shape up soon. Talk soon!
